Objective: Meta-analysis of the correlation between the expression of CD24 in breast cancer tissues and clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis. Methods: Retrieve CD24 expression in breast cancer from the Web of Science,Pub Med,The Cochrane Library,Embase,Chinese Academic Journal Full-text Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, and Wanfang Database, and literature studies related to clinicopathological features and survival prognosis. The retrieval time starts from the construction of the database to September 2019.The hazard ratio(HR)was used to evaluate the relationship between CD24 positive expression and overall survival(OS)and disease-free survival(DFS)in breast cancer patients.Relative risk(RR)was used to evaluate the clinicopathological characteristics of CD24 positive and breast cancer patients such as tumor size, tumor TNM stage, age, whether axillary lymph node metastasis, triple negative breast cancer, nuclear grade,ER,PR and Her-2 status. Results: A total of 11 studies were included, with a total of 2810 patients with breast cancer.Meta-analysis results show that:(1)The positive expression of CD24 in breast cancer tissues is a poor prognostic factor for breast cancer patients,in which the HR of OS = 1.15,95% CI,1.14-1.17,P [0.00001;HR of DFS = 1.28,95% CI,1.02-1.61,P = 0.003;(2)The expression of CD24 in breast cancer was significantly correlated with axillary lymph node metastasis(RR = 1.17;95% CI,1.02-1.34;P = 0.03);(3)The expression of CD24 in breast cancer tissues was significantly correlated with high-grade nuclear grade of breast cancer(RR = 1.16;95% CI,1.04-1.30;P = 0.009);(4)CD24 expression in breast cancer was Her-2 positive Significantly correlated with expression RR = 1.21;95% CI,1.08-1.36;P = 0.001);(5)CD24 expression in breast cancer was significantly correlated with tumor TNM stage(RR=1.47,95% CI: 1.06-2.04,P=0.021);(6)CD24 expression in breast cancer has no significant correlation with patient age, triple negative breast cancer, estrogen, and progesterone receptor status. Conclusions: 1.The abnormal expression of CD24 in breast cancer tissues has significant correlation with patients’ OS and DFS,which is one of the important factors for poor prognosis of breast cancer.2.The expression of CD24 in breast cancer tissues was significantly correlated with breast cancer axillary lymph node metastasis,high-level nuclear grading,Her-2 positive status, and tumor TNM staging.3.There was no significant correlation between CD24 expression in breast cancer tissues and patient age, triple negative breast cancer, estrogen and progesterone receptor status.
