| Object: To explore the correlation between the expression of integrin α5 and integrin β1 in cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissue and the pathological characteristics and prognosis. Methods:From January 2008 to December 2018,80 patients with stage IA1-IIA2(FIGO stage,2009)who were diagnosed as cervical squamous carcinoma(CSC)by histopathological examination and underwent surgery at First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University School of Medicine were selected for the study. The expression of integrin α5 and β1 in tumor cells(TCs)and tumor related endothelial cells(TRECs)were detected by immunohistochemical staining. The clinical-pathological characteristics of the patients were collected and the patients were followed up regularly. The progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)were calculated to assess prognostic.Results:1.The positive expression of integrin α5 in TCs and TRECs of patients with tumor diameter ≥2cm were significantly higher than those with tumor diameter < 2cm(P < 0.05).2.The positive expression of integrin α5 in TCs and TRECs of patients in IB2-IIA2 stage were significantly higher than those in IA1-IB1 stage(P < 0.05).3.The positive expression of integrin α5 in TCs and TRECs in moderately and poorly differentiated were significantly higher than those in well differentiated(P < 0.05).4.The positive expression of integrin α5 in TCs and TRECs of patients with deep stromal invasion(DSI)were significantly higher than those without DSI(P < 0.05).5.The expression of integrin α5 in TCs was both correlated with OS and PFS(P < 0.05).6.The expression of integrin α5 in TRECs was correlated with PFS(P < 0.05).7.The positive expression of integrin β1 in TCs of patients with tumor diameter ≥ 2cm were significantly higher than those with tumor diameter < 2cm(P < 0.05).8.The positive expression of integrin β1 in TRECs of patients with DSI were significantly higher than those without DSI(P < 0.05).9.The expression of integrin β1 in TCs and TRECs were both correlated with OS and PFS(P <0.05).Conclusion:1.Integrin α5 and integrin β1 in TCs and TRECs of CSC may promote the growth and progression of the tumor.2.Integrin α5 and integrin β1 may be as a tumor marker to judge the development, invasion and metastasis of CSC.3.Integrin α5 and integrin β1 are expected to become a new target for anti-tumor treatment of CSC. |
