| ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to explore the effects of risperidone, quetiapine and aripiprazole on cognitive function in patients with schizophrenia.MethodA total of 89 first-episode schizophrenic inpatients in Anhui Mental Health Center from April 2018 to April 2019 were 1:1:1 randomly divided into three groups of risperidone(n=30),quetiapine(n=29)and aripiprazole(n=30)according to the time of admission.Cognitive functions were assessed on the day of admission and 1,2 and 4-weeks after treatment in order to make a trend analysis and analyze on the difference between the effects of the three antipsychotics on cognitive function in treating schizophrenia. The measurement tool adopted in this study was Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status, evaluated by a standardly trained psychiatrists.Statistical analysis was performed by SPSS 23.0.The analysis mainly consists of t-test analysis, analysis of variance analysis,rank-sum test and repeated measures Anova.Statistical significance will be concluded at P<0.05.Results1.The score of PANSS after treatment in three groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),but there were no difference among the three groups after treatment on the minus value of PANSS(F=0.076,F=0.286,F=1.184,F=0.640,P>0.05).2.Compared with baseline, after 4 weeks treatment, the total scores of RBANS in all the three groups were different from baseline(t=12.562,P<0.05;t=14.240,P<0.05;t=19.801,P<0.05).3.After treatment, except speech function(t=1.314,P=0.199).risperidone had significant improvement(P<0.05)in immediate memory, visual span, attention and delayed memory of first-episode schizophrenia.4.After treatment, except speech function(P=1.953,P=0.061),quetiapine had significant improvement(P<0.05)in immediate memory, visual span, attention and delayed memory of first-episode schizophrenia.5.After treatment, aripiprazole had significant improvement(P<0.05)in immediate memory, visual span, speech function, attention and delayed memory of first-episode schizophrenia after treatment, and performed better than risperidone and quetiapine in improving immediate memory, speech function, delayed memory and total score.(P<0.05).Conclusions1.Atypical antipsychotics can improve the cognitive function of first-episode schizophrenia patients.2.Except for speech function, risperidone has improved the cognitive function(immediate memory, visual span, attention and delayed memory)of first-episode schizophrenia.3.Except for speech function, quetiapine has improved the cognitive function(immediate memory, visual span, attention and delayed memory)of first-episode schizophrenia.4.Aripiprazole has improved the cognitive function(immediate memory, visual span, speech function, attention and delayed memory)of patients with first-episode schizophrenia, and performed better than risperidone and quetiapine in improving immediate memory, speech function, delayed memory and total score. |
