With more and more deeply in cultural exchanges between China and Japan,the translation is not just confined to literary and scientific field.It is the fact that the trend of the demand of translation for lecture notes,instructions,audiovisual material,and et al.are increasing.In the history of the translation theory,the text typology which putted forward by Katharina Reiss can be used for translate different kind of text.Reiss divided different kinds of text into four types,as "Informative text","Expressive text","Operative text" and "Audiovisual text",respectively,and carry out the related translation method as well.This thesis choose the 81 session public lecture notes of Tokyo Univ.which were about"marriage".Respectively,the beginning and close speech texts as the translation text.Under the instruction of the text typology,and by the example of actual translation text,this thesis mainly discusses the strategy for how to select suitable translation method for lecture notes.The first chapter of this thesis mainly introduce the preparation work before starting translation.By analyzing,the beginning and close speech texts are more in operative text than informative text,but for the two lecture notes,the situation is reversed.The second chapter discussed the application of the "equivalent" and "plain prose" translation methods in beginning and close speech texts in detail.And the third chapter mainly discussed about the application of the"plain prose" and "equivalent" translation methods in lecture notes in detail.Through this translation practice,the translator realized that during translation process,even though we need to obey the text typology,but it is also very important to analysis the text content firstly.
