| Lijiang has accelerated its involvement in the globalization process because of tourism development.The woodcarving artists are inevitably influenced by this globalization wave.As a local art,Lijiang woodcarving also in the process of change constantly.Taking the art practice of local woodcarving artists in Lijiang as an example,this paper explores the concrete influence of globalization on local art(Lijiang woodcarving)and the cultural significance behind these influences.In the first chapter,I introduce the local woodcarving artists develop experience.They first appear in the souvenir market.Then they choose different way to alive when something changed in the market.In the process,their creations became more elaborate and varied.In the second and third chapter,I am going to find out what possible attempts the wood carving artists have tried to get rid of the pressure of survival.Establishing a wood carving association,or getting application of "Non-material Cultural Heritage Inheritance ",or running a company,testing the experiential tourism projects,all these paths are the coping strategies made by woodcarving artists to survive.In the fourth chapter,I focus on the correlation between globalization and local art.For the wood carving artists involved in globalization today,their works appeared in the "art of hybridity" phenomenon,and they also appeared identity ambiguity.As far as I am concerned,I take this study to rethink the development of the national art under the background of globalization.I think that the national art should not neglect innovation for the sake of protecting tradition.The country’s public cultural policy system should take into account many ethnic arts that cannot obtain intangible cultural heritage status,and then formulate a more diversified cultural policy. |
