Research On The Phenomenon Of Adultery During The Spring And Autumn Society

Marriage is a combination of sexual union which is accepted by the law and society.It is a prerequisite for the establishment of family and human development.In the Spring and Autumn society,under the rule of patriarchal system and ritual system,marriage is not only a personal behavior,but also a major event related to the interests of both sides of the marriage.It has a special political nature.However,the phenomenon of adultery is not only the destruction of the traditional moral concept of marriage,but also the challenge to the patriarchal system and ritual system in the Spring and Autumn society.The phenomenon of adultery often happens in the Spring and Autumn period.Why do people adultery with others,what are the characteristics of the phenomenon of adultery,what is the attitude of people to the adultery,and what was the impact on the Spring and Autumn society and the later ages,which are all problems worthy of concern and discussion.Studying on the phenomenon of adultery in the Spring and Autumn period is helpful for us to have a deeper understanding of the ethics in the Spring and Autumn period,tolerance of society to adultery and the consciousness of women’s rights in the Spring and Autumn Period,it also allows us to further understand the political struggles in the Spring and Autumn period through the perspective of adultery.The paper will be divided into six main parts,including introduction,four chapters and epilogue.The introduction mainly defines the research object of this paper,defines the scope of this study,and points out that "Zheng" and "Bao" are not the scope of this paper.And it will introduce the situation of adultery before the Spring and Autumn period and introduce the research status of adultery.In the first chapter,the author lists the phenomenon of adultery which have been recorded in the history book and analyze the reason for the phenomenon of adultery.According to the different status of the people,this paper divides the phenomenon of adultery during the Spring and Autumn period into three kinds,such as women adultery with monarch,women adultery with Qing Da Fu and women adultery with retainer or servant.The author will analyze the identity of the privies,the beginning and end of the adultery events and the final result of the privies.In the second chapter,the author explores people’s social cognition and evaluation of adultery phenomenon in the Spring and Autumn period.People whoconcerned with adultery do not think it’s a shame.Their family members’ attitudes towards them are not consistent.Some showed tolerance and some showed criticism.But the reasons why they are criticized or punished are not for adultery itself.From the social perspective,People’s attitude towards adultery is fixed and tolerated.In the third chapter,the author analysis the characteristics of the phenomenon of adultery during Spring and Autumn society.It specifically includes that,the relationships between privies are diverse and more expression as kinship,the phenomenon of adultery mostly related to Qi women,who married to Lu,the identity of female are mostly noble who has loses her spouse,men are often punished unilaterally in the phenomenon of adultery,the tolerance of society to this phenomenon is gradually declining and so on.Then the author analyses the causes of these characteristicsIn the fourth chapter,the author expatiates the influence of the adultery phenomenon in the Spring and Autumn society.The phenomenon of adultery caused the abnormal replacement of the monarch,triggered domestic rebellions and accelerated the process the destruction of the patriarchal clan system.It also caused dramatic changes on political status between aristocracies and promote the political struggle between aristocracies go to a climax.In the last chapter,the author summarizes the main points of this paper and tries to improve the recognition level after systematically discussing the phenomenon of adultery during the Spring and Autumn society.The author puts the visual angle on the background of Spring and Autumn society.The author points out that the phenomenon of adultery reflect the conflicts of ideology and culture,the struggle of Qing Dafu in the late Spring and Autumn Period and the obvious weakening of women’s autonomy in sexual intercourse.In addition,this problem still have space to continue research,such as period and scope.
