| News has become an increasingly important part in our daily life nowadays when information and globalization develop quite rapidly.Asa window for us to understand the world, news expandsreaders’ vision and enriches their knowledge.Due to the drive of globalization,Chinese audience begins to give more and more attention to cultural communication with other countries.Meanwhile, other countries also start to increasingly focuson the exchange and sharing of information with China. Therefore, news has become the most effective channel of information communication among different countries.Meanwhile, the E-C translation of news is also indispensable for Chinese readers because only if we deepen our understanding of other countries, can we strengthen our power and consolidate our status in the world.Thepublication of Relevance:Communication and Cognition co-authored by Sperber and Wison in 1986 offers us a new perspective and effective translation approaches for the translation research and practice.According to the theory, communication not only requires encoding, transferring and decoding processes, but also involves cognitive inference. This thesisdiscusses the translation strategies and methods under the guidance of the Relevance Theory with specific news examples selected from China Daily iNews website. In this sense, the explanation of relevance theory and its application to the news translation practice will be the important parts of the thesis. The author tries to analyze and summarize the difficult points encountered in the process of translation, puts forward some solutions, and then analyzes the difficulties and key points of the text.At last, the author gives a summary of experience gained in the translation practice and points out the deficiencies of the research process, and puts forward some possible suggestions for our future research,in hope of providing some reference for relevant news translators. |
