A Study Of The North China Council For Rural Reconstruction (1935-1942)

In the middle and late 1930s,China's rural Reconstruction movement gradually entered a climax stage.A number of rural Reconstruction organizations emerged at the same time.At the same time,spontaneous and preliminary organized interactions began to appear.Three national rural Reconstruction conferences were held successively.Among many rural Reconstruction organizations,the North China Council for Rural Reconstruction is one of the most representative and special rural Reconstruction activity organizations.As the core.step of the Rockefeller Foundation's "North China Program",its investment scale is among the most numerous in the rural Reconstruction movement.It has the strongest research strength,extensive research fields,and international backgrounds.It is considered to be the most 'promising fruition' of the Sino-foreign cooperation to solve the crises in rural China.At the same time,in accordance with the guiding ideology of the "North China Plan" and the "Wuxi meeting" of the Third National Rural Reconstruction Work Conference,the North China Council for Rural Reconstruction integrated resources from all parties and combine university education with rural practice.The independent island Reconstruction mode in which the original rural Reconstruction movements were fought was broken,providing a new development model for the next stage of the rural Reconstruction movement.In addition,the special nature of the internal cooperation model of the North China Council for Rural Reconstruction also determines the inevitable internal friction and collision,which provides the possibility for us to understand potential contradictions and conflicts in the rural Reconstruction movement in China during this period.With the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War in North China,the North China Council for Rural Reconstruction had to be forced to stop its work in North China and relocate to the south.It turned all over Guizhou and Chongqing to make certain contributions to the rural reconstruction and public education and health undertakings in the southwestern region.It changed the predicament that the original southwest region was placed outside the horizon of the rural reconstruction movement.However,due to the short duration of the organization of the North China Council for Rural Reconstruction,and the fact that it was established on the occasion of war,coupled with the decentralization of related materials,its importance has long been unknown in the Chinese academic community.By conducting its research in the entire rural reconstruction campaign,we will make a comprehensive recovery and analysis of its internal evolution,cooperation,and conflicts.This will help us deepen and improve our understanding of China's modern rural reconstruction movement.
