| Chinese idioms are refined,popular,vivid,humorous,implicit,and are commonly used in people’s daily conversations.The study of idioms can arouse the interest of foreign students in the Chinese language class and promote the spread of Chinese culture.It is a teaching point of considerable research value in Chinese international education.This article analyzes the idioms in Hanyu Guanyongyu Jiaocheng,and classifies 204 idioms by syllable number,emotional color,grammatical structure,semantic expression and source.The idiomatic expressions in Hanyu Guanyongyu Jiaocheng are typical spoken language,mainly three syllables,and have semantic double-layeredness.There are three types of emotional color: degrading,derogatory,and neutral.The structural characteristics are mainly reflected in the coagulation and separation.On the other hand,context can affect the meaning and strategy of idiomatic expression.This article puts forward the two major teaching principles of idioms,which are general design idioms,single breakthrough difficulties;easy to be difficult,step by step,combined with practice,focus on pragmatics.According to the teaching principles mentioned above,four kinds of teaching approaches for middle-level and high-level international students are proposed: scene-based teaching,listening and speaking,translation teaching and game-involved teaching.Combination of previous research results and the author’s investigation and analysis,this article selects Finally Found His Own Comfort Zone,the second lesson of the Hanyu Guanyongyu Jiaochen,as an example to develop instructional design.Meanwhile,the author carried out the teaching practice in The Office for the Administration of International Chinese Culture and Education of Chongqing Normal University and The International Students` Department of Sichuan International Studies University.In the form of interviews and questionnaire surveys,Chinese teachers and two students in the teaching classes collected feedback on the use of idiom teaching.On this basis,the proposed teaching suggestions are as follows: keepabreast with the topic of the text and control the difficulty of teaching idioms;set up social situations and guide students to use idioms to express;pay attention to idiom culture and construct deep semantics. |
