This is a practice report on C-E translation of Introduction to Changchun Xinglong Free Trade Zone.The source text,as a kind of publicity material,is selected from the website of Changchun Xinglong Free Trade Zone.The author selects three chapters to translate including its general outline,development strategies and achievements.The report mainly illustrates some of the problems that the author encountered in the process of translation and some specific solutions to the problems.As for the translation of words and expressions with Chinese characteristics,the author adopts literal translation,free translation and literal translation plus explanation.With respect to sentences without subjects in the source text,subject addition and the use of passive sentences are applied.While for complex sentences,the author adopts conversion and restructuring to solve them.The author hopes that the English version of Introduction to Changchun Xinglong Free Trade Zone would enable more foreign enterprises to have a comprehensive understanding of Changchun of Jilin province and make investment in it so as to further promote the transformation and all-round revitalization of the economic development mode of Jilin province and the old industrial base in northeast China.Besides,the author also hopes that the practice report could provide some inspiration and references for those postgraduates who are taking MTI program.
