English articles include the indefinite article “a” and “an”,the definite article “the”,and the zero article.Article is a kind of unique and special words in English language.They appear frequently in the use of English-speaking learners,but for English learners in our country,especially in some of the remote areas,the junior high students there have very little chances to access English,let alone the systematic study of articles.Moreover,due to the absence of articles in Chinese,there are so many difficulties for the students to acquisition the use of articles in our country.Also,in the process of using articles,there are so many article misuses in the students’ writing.In recent years,there are so many scholars who have conducted corresponding research about the use of articles by English learners.Some of them have analyzed the learners’ spoken language materials,and some of them have analyzed the use of learners’ simple articles in a certain sentence.Others analyze the student’s article errors in the existing corpus.Also,there are many scholars analyze the misuse of the article in the writing of the learners.However,most of the researches are focused on English learning at the university level.The relevant researches on the study of the English learners at the junior high school level is relatively few.Based on this current situation,I decided to study the use of the article in the junior school of the third grade students to understand the current situation of their using of articles in English writing.Through the author’s study of English writing texts in a junior high school students in PengShui,Chongqing,to make a conclusion that the analysis of the phenomenon of students’ misuses of the article and its reasons and causes.The following findings were found in the research about the acquisition and use of English articles for the junior high school students there: there are 150 copies of the third grade English writing texts were collected.There are26 invalid texts were excluded.The results showed that the total number of articles used was284,and there are 131 errors.First,the number of article omit ion up to 118 times,accounting for 41.55% of the misuse of the article;second,the number of article redundant is 8,accounting for 0.03%;thirdly,the number of article confusion is 5,accounting for 0.02% of the total errors.To make a conclusion,they are more inclined to commit the article when they use the articles,and then,the article omission;finally,the kind of article confusion.Finally,through the author’s researches about their misuse of,combine with the actual situation of the third grade students in Pengshui Chongqing,the author also give somecorresponding suggestions.
