An Interpreting Practice Report Of Voice Under The Guide Of Syntactic Linearity

As we all know,with the rapid development of Internet media,TV programs have become one of the most important ways of people’s entertainment in daily life.Compared with movies and TV series,talk shows are more real and mysterious.And now people are watching not only the programs domestic,but also the programs abroad.At the same time,foreigners are more interested in our TV programs.However,currently many programs have been spread out after translation,but there are only a few excellent programs.Therefore,in order to spread the Chinese programs and the Chinese culture within it,and to help the foreigners know the Chinese’s real life and inner world better,the author selected the TV program Voice as the material of interpretation.In this interpretation,the author used the principle of syntactic linearity as the main method,combined with other methods and hoped to interpret with the related theories to have a better interpretation.In this interpretation report,the author used the principle of syntactic linearity as the basis,and focused on language’s logic and understanding in the paper so that it would be easily understood by the audience.However,in the translation,the original text has many repeated meanings,many traditional Chinese four-character words,lack of subjective and the chaos of sentences so all these have made the interpretation much more difficult.In the process of the detailed cases analysis,the author stated and concluded the difficulties encountered and the solutions to them and these would be effective experience to the interpretation in the future.In this thesis,the author analyzed the principle of syntactic linearity in the practice of simultaneous interpretation from these four respects,including segmentation,amplification,repetition and conversion.Through the case analysis of the interpretation of the video,the author pointed out how to make a good usage of the principle of the syntactic linearity in the simultaneous interpretation.In the SI,if the original sentence is too long or the structure is too complicated,the method of segmentation could be used to cut the text into several small trunks on the condition that the meaning of the original is not changed.If the meaning of the interpreted meaning is too rigid,the method of amplification,repetition and conversion could be used flexibly to add,repeat or transfer the word formation in order to achieve a smooth,accurate and natural interpretation.In recent years,with the improvement of the status of China in the international society,there are more and more communication and exchanges among China and the other countries.Therefore,there is more and more need of the simultaneous interpreting and the requirement is also improved.This paper analyzed the simultaneous interpreting to improve its quality,which would contribute great significance and experience to the research and development in the field.
