| In life,we will face various problems and choices. We all hope to avoid the negative effects of some factors and maximize our profits. Therefore, understanding which factors will influence decision-making is a key issue in current decision-making research. When we are faced with such a decision: a small but relatively certain gain,a large gain but very uncertain,in this case, the environmental information and personal characteristics when making the choice will largely affect the individual The final choice. This study takes psychological distance and orientation as the main perspectives, and examines the differences in the choice of risk for individuals with different adjustment orientations in different psychological distance dimensions. In the past studies, less concerned with the combination of psychological distance and adjustment orientation to explore the impact on risk decision-making,this study first summarized the research progress in psychological distance theory, adjustment orientation theory and related fields, based on previous studies. The study focused on the combination of two influencing factors to explore risk decision-making.This study consists of a total of three sub-studies,using online distribution and situational experiments, using independent sample t-tests,repeated measures on methods to analyze, respectively,in a single psychological distance(time, social and probability distance),trait regulatory focus and situational regulatory focus of the subject ’ s risk decision in the orientation.Study 1 explored the impact of psychological distance on risk decision. The experiment is within-subject design. The result showed that psychological distance has a significant impact on risk decision.compared to making choice in near future, people making decision in distant future tended to prefer risk alternative in risky decision;Study 2 added trait regulatory focus on the basis of Study 1,and adopted a 2 ×2mixed design. The result showed that regardless of trait regulatory focus or situational regulatory focus subjects, people making decision in distant future tended to prefer risk alternative in risk decision.comparing prevention focus, promotion focus in distant futureand making choices for others tended to prefer risk alternative in risk decision, but not at other levels.Study 3 and Study 2 are parallel studies to explore risk decision under situational regulatory focus. The result showed: comparing prevention focus, promotion focus in distant future, making choice for themselves and making choices for others tended to prefer risk alternative in risk decision, but not at other levels. In summary, the psychological distance has a significant impact on risk selection. The farther the psychological distance is,the more likely it is to choose the risk option;the time distance/social distance has the interactive effect with the adjustment orientation. The recent selection/self-selection on the two types of directional individuals is There was a significant difference in risk decision, and there was no significant difference in the distance between psychological distances. |
