Chinese characters are one of the important parts in the class of teaching Chinese to foreigners of other languages.Compared with alphabetic writing,Chinese characters have complicated structures,also Chinese patterns do not reflect their pronunciations.So for students from non-Chinese cultural circle,Chinese pronunciation and writing are two big challenges for them.As we can see,learning Chinese characters not only an key point for these learners,but also a difficult part.In this paper,the author analyzes the writing errors of basic level and intermediate level classes in Chengdu University of Information Technology,and finds that there are some shortages in school,students,and teachers,so the author will put forward some suggestions and strategies from these three aspects in this paper.This paper contains six parts.As a foundation of this paper,the first part introduces the purpose and significance of this paper,and summarizes the domestic research status from three aspects,including the psychological research on Chinese character cognition,the teaching application of Chinese-character theories,and the study on Chinese writing errors of Chinese learners.In the second part,the author,referring to the standards of Chinese characters’ strokes in Hanzi Xue edited by Liu Zhicheng,and the categories of Chinese writing errors in Duiwai Hanzi Jiaoxue Yanjiu written by Sun Dejin,classifies the collected writing errors into three categories contains stroke errors,component errors and whole character errors,as well as counts the number of each kinds.In the third part,through comparing the writing errors between the basic level class and the intermediate level class,the author finds that the two classes have similar main writing errors,and their difficulties of learning Chinese characters reflect in the errors of Chinese characters’ strokes and structures.Based on the third part,the forth part analyses the reasons that causes the writing errors of this two classes from both subjective and objective perspectives,and the author discovers that espect characters’ internal difficulties,learning strategies,learning tools and teaching methods can also influence learners’ accuracy of writing Characters.Part five is some suggestions and strategies about decreasing writing errors to CUIT,the learners of Chinese characters and Chinese characters’ teachers.In the last part,the author summarizes the main contents,and rethinks several defaults of this paper.Hoping this paper can apply some useful ways to improve the writing level for these students who study in CUIT,and can help students to cultivate interests in Chinese characters.
