Study On Optimizing English Reading Teaching In Senior High School Based On Heterogeneous Model

English reading teaching has always been the focus and difficulty of English teaching and how to improve the effectiveness of English reading teaching is one of the important issues in English teaching.This study is based on the cooperative teaching theory and the optimization theory.And from the perspective of teacher and in the medium of one activity of the heterogeneous classes,this study tries to explore the function of heterogeneous model in teaching design and teachers’ teaching behaviors of English reading and ways to make the function better and better.This study uses questionnaire method,interview method,case analysis method and comparative research method and takes a typical case of the heterogeneous classes in a senior high school as the research object.Firstly,through questionnaires and interviews,the attitude of English teachers towards the heterogeneous classes and the heterogeneous classes’ functions and deficiencies are clearly showed.Secondly,in order to explain the function of the activity and provide evidence in detail,this study analyzes the differences between two teachers in arrangement of teaching key and difficult points,teaching objectives,teaching procedures,blackboard design and teaching reflection;and observes the differences between two teachers in teachers’ teaching behaviors,such as leading-in,presentation and conversation.These results of questionnaire,interview and case analysis show that from the perspective of teacher,to an extent,the heterogeneous classes can optimize English reading teaching through teachers’ cooperation and communication in teaching design and teaching behavior.The optimizations are as follows: the first one is the optimization of reading teaching design.That is to optimize the preparation,procedure,and reflection parts of reading teaching design through the discussion,grinding class and evaluation parts of the activity.The second one is the improvement of the teachers’ teaching behaviors,such as raising the level of teaching and research so as to enhance teachers’ awareness of teaching behaviors,mobilizing teachers’ enthusiasm so as to improve the opportunities of finding differences in teaching behavior,strengthening teachers’ evaluation and reflection so as to make them put what they learn into the real English reading teaching.However,in the process of the heterogeneous classes,this study finds three problems: “limited practical conditions”,“lack of experts’ guidance” and “lack of prominent focus in assessment”.Therefore,in order to increase the effectiveness of the heterogeneous classes,this study makes some suggestions: “ introducing the heterogeneous classes into daily English reading teaching”,“ emphasizing experts’ guidance” and “paying more attention to comparative evaluation”.
