A Report On The Interpretation Of Civilization Code:An Interview On Xunxian’s Traditional Temple Fair

Along with the increasing international exchanges,China is implementing her cultural development strategy.As a result,higher expectations for interpreting theories and interpreters are being more and more important in the translation events involving Chinese to English translation.The interpretive theory is the first theory that was found in interpretation theories.It has a profound influence on the research and practice of interpreting theory in China.The core idea of the interpretive theory lies in deverbalization.It holds that interpretation is not only a work on words or language,but also a work on message and sense.The interpreter should put emphasis on conveying the deep meaning of the speaker or author.In this paper,typical translation cases are analyzed under the guidance of interpretive theory.According to the core idea of this theory,the author analyzes the translation cases respectively from the lexical level,syntactical level and textual level combining with specific translation strategies such as amplification,reduction,combination and omission.The interpretation report records the whole interpretation process,including translation task description,translation process,translation cases analysis and translation practice.Through this interpretation practice,the author has improved the understanding of consecutive interpreting and accumulated experience for the future translation theory study and translation practice.
