In the report of the Yi people’s theme of "Yi people in Butuo",via reference and exploration of many artist’ s artworks that express Yi people’s character images,The author analyzes and studies the characters,expressions,creative methods,color processing,and emotional expression of the Yi people in these artworks.This has inspired the author in his graduation project.The authoring report elaborated on the author’s creative sentiment in the life experience of painting and collecting customs in Daliang mountain.At the same time,the author has a more comprehensive on the spot contact with local customs and ethnic customs of the Yi people in Liang mountain.In my deeper understanding of the living elements such as the characteristics of Yi people’s living habits,national costumes,and character images.These made me have a deeper understanding of the theme of Liang mountain Yi ethnic figures that created by artists such as Zhou Sicong,He Duoling,Gao Xiaohua,A Ge,Mo Ye and Pang Maokun.These factors made me have more choices and more specific goals in the process of creating material collection and creative practices.During the creative practice,according to the collection of a large of Yi people’s living materials in Liang mountain and the numerous artists’ artworks on the creative artworks of Yi ethnic group in Liang mountain.I was deeply explore the form of watercolor painting with modern morphology but without losing the ontology language,and make sufficient preparations for the practice of graduation creation.After many creative practice attempts and continuous exploration of creative methods I tied,I sought out a language that was different from other artists and suitable for personal creation.I chose the image of the women and their scenes of life in the Butuo ethnic group in Liang moutain which is the final topic for graduation.In the creative process of creating the "Butuo and the Yi People",I conducted a detailed study on many aspects of the painting atmosphere,color relationships,character modeling,watercolor techniques,and details,due to Emphasizing the importance of craftsmanship in the creation of watercolors and even the entire art creation.In the creative process,I came to a deeper understanding,analyzed the difficulty in modeling the creation of watercolor figure paintings,put forward the attitude that should be held in the application of synthetic materials in the creation of watercolor figure paintings.I found the way in which the creation emotions are maintained.The selection of material in principle discusses its own point of view.Among them,I have reflected on some deficiencies in the creative process.For instance,the feelings of life in the Yi ethnic culture are not profound and the study of the classic Yi paintings is incomplete,there are deficiencies in the exploration of the creative language,etc.I can take a lesson in my own creative career.
