| In the piano suite Miroirs,Gaspard de la Nuit and Le Tombeau de Couperin,Ravel strengthens and consolidates his unique musical form and structure through the formalization of materials,and demonstrates his unconventional innovation and different new sound.Based on the perspectives of materials and morphological studies,the thesis combs the development of“materials and forms” in three piano suite works.Through the investigation of its surface phenomena and the analysis of its internal structure,it traces the logic form in the development of materials and textures,and then explores the relationships between the materials and textures in the structure.The thesis is divided into seven parts and five chapters.The text begins with the introduction part,including the historical background of Ravel’s composition,the origin and significance of this research,the research status at home and abroad,and the basic ideas and methods of research.The first chapter summarizes the music materials of those three works,including the different representations of the materials and their characterization.The second chapter discusses from the perspective of the texture of musical materials.The third chapter discusses the rhythm and beat of musical materials in multi-ways.The fourth chapter focuses on the pitch and theme of music materials.The fifth chapter expounds the relationship between structure and musical form in those three works,which combining single materials and composite materials,synchronizing and separating various forms of structural elements in which like rhythm,pitch,timbre,intensity,and other musical structural elements to form a rich and complex form of musical sound.Finally,the conclusion of this paper is a comprehensive description of the summarization of the first five chapters and the author’s personal opinion. |
