With an increasing development of world economy,real estate industry becomes an eye-catching sector both at home and abroad.China has made great progress in economic growth,which stimulates us to be more and more yearning for exploring the real estate industry.Consequently,Australian real estate investment stirs up a spree in Chinese market,which further highlights the importance of translating real estate texts.This report is a translation reflection based on Setting REIA’s Strategic Direction which is published by Real Estate Institution of Australia.It is under the guidance of Newmark’s Text Typology,and the translator classifies this article as informative and vocative texts.Communicative translation is also applied to correctly convey information of the source text and call upon readers’ response,thinking and feeling so as to achieve communicative effect of target text.The translation report is composed of five chapters.Chapter one is the description of this translation project,including the background and significance.Chapter two introduces the whole translation process,namely pre-translation,during-translation and after-translation.The translation preparation contains analyzing features of the source language,collecting parallel texts and building glossary.During-translation briefly demonstrates the tools and methods applied in translation.After-translation refers to proofreading.Chapter three combines Newmark’s Text Typology and communicative translation to guide the whole translation.Chapter four focuses on case analysis which is the core part of the translation report.It respectively elaborates the major difficulties in translation from the aspects of lexical and syntactic levels,and finds out solutions to solve these problems.The last chapter is the conclusion of this translation practice.
