A Study On The Doctrine Of LI By Chen Wenwei

Chen Wenwei was a disciple of Zhu Zi.He was a famous LI Doctrine grandmaster during the Southern Song Dynasty.He inherited and spread Zhu Zi’s thoughts.This thesis analyzes Chen Wenwei’s thoughts from four aspects through the kezhaiji.Chen Wenwei believes that Tai Ji is LI and is metaphysical.Yin Yang is QI and is physical.LI and QI are in one thing.He believes that Xin contains Xing and Qing,Ren Xin and Dao Xin is a Xin.The born Xing is pure.The temperament is not all pure.Chen Wenwei attaches great importance to the golden mean and Zeng Dian’s state.He believes that we must act in accordance with morality in our daily lives.Chen Wenwei keeps Chi Jing which focused on LI Doctrine Gong Fu.He believes that it is his responsibility to promote LI Doctrine and combat heresy.It has more important value to study Chen Wenwei’s LI Doctrine.He regarded dissemination of LI Doctrine as his lifelong career.He made a great contribution to the spread and development of LI Doctrine.This paper made a special study of Chen Wenwei’s LI Doctrine,expounded his LI Doctrine thought system,and affirmed his historical position in the development and dissemination of Zhuism.This is my expectation to get advice from academic masters.
