The Effect Of Type Of Questioning On The Generalization Of Autobiographical Memory

In psychological consultation,the type of questioning asked by counselors will greatly affect the mental process of the patient,such as emotion,attention and so on.Most of previous studies focused on the influence of questioning orientation on emotion,attention,thinking and other cognitive processes,and very few on memory.But autobiographical memory is closely related to mental health of individuals.This paper discusses the different effects of two types of question:Solution-focused and Problem-focused on the generalization of autobiographical memory with the results of literature review and exploratory experiment,understands the influence of the different type of questioning on the generalization of autobiographical memory,which has important theoretical and practical value.This study recruited 344 junior high school students in Henan province.With the questionnaire,question orientation questionnaire and attribution style questionnaire as the tools,the effects of the problem state and the type of question on the generalization of autobiographical memory were investigated.On this basis,the solution orientation was further applied to different attributional groups,and the effect differences of Solution-focused on people with different attribution styles were explored.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Starting the problem state can increase the generalization of autobiographical memory.(2)Different questioning types have different effects on the generalization of autobiographical memory.(3)The use of Solution-focused can reduce generalization of autobiographical memory,while Problem-focused does not reduce generalization of autobiographical memory.(4)Solution-focused questioning can increase the positive influence of the client and reduce the negative impact.(5)Solution-focused questioning has different effects on people with different attribution styles,and the improvement effect on the internal attribution group is significantly higher than that of the external attribution group.
