The Isles of Greece, one of Byron's most famous heroic poems, has its unique stylistic beauty. From the two perspectives of form markers and non-formal markers proposed by Liu Miqing in his Stylistic Markers Theory, this thesis will analyze both the linguistic style and the literary style of this poem and study the reproduction of them through English-Chinese translation. There will be four chapters:Chapter One is the review of previous studies on style and style reproduction, translation of Byron's The Isles of Greece,as well as Stylistic Markers Theory.Chapter Two introduces the Stylistic Markers Theory proposed by Liu Miqing as the strategy for analyzing style and reproducing style of literary works.Chapter Three elaborates the linguistic style of this poem and studies on the reproduction of the poetic features in detailed discussion.Chapter Four focuses on the literary style of this poem and studies on reproducing it to deliver the thoughts and feelings of Byron. The innovative point of this thesis lies in the specific study on style reproduction of this poem, which no one has made before. In light of the Stylistic Markers Theory proposed by Liu Miqing, this paper analyzes the form markers and non-formal markers in Byron's The Isles of Greece to identify its unique and distinctive style. From the linguistic perspective and the literary perspective, this paper studies the proper method to reproduce the style of this poem in an all-round way.Furthermore, this paper selects various translated versions from the beginning of 20 th century to modern times for more comprehensive reference and comparisons. All in all, this is a study on Byron's The Isles of Greece and its translation from a fresh angle with abundant references.
