Under the effectuation of the new curriculum standards,English teaching status in many senior high schools is not ideal,especially in English grammar teaching.Grammar teaching has always been a crucial component of middle school English teaching at home.And influenced by numerous elements,such as teachers,students,teaching methods,etc,English grammar teaching methods are different.Traditional English grammar teaching is teacher-centered,and students can only accept it in a passive state.This is not only unfavorable to students' autonomous learning,but also reduces students' interest and motivation in English learning.So the introduction of task-based English grammar teaching is conducive to changing the current pattern of English grammar teaching and improving the quality of grammar teaching.At present,the study of task-based teaching method is mainly focused on listening,reading,writing,and speaking.However,it has little study on grammar teaching.The main research methods used in this paper are test method,questionnaire method and interview method.This paper probes into the feasibility and effectiveness of task-based teaching method through the practice of English grammar teaching in two classes of Senior One in Jiangcheng Middle School of Jilin City.There are 88 students taking part in the experiment.The experimental class(43 students)adopts task-based English grammar teaching,while the control class(45 students)adopts the traditional English grammar teaching.Then the author had a statistical analysis of the data collected from the experiment.On the basis of a large amount of data,the author performed a comparative analysis of the test scores and the results of the questionnaire between the experimental class and the control class.The statistical analysis reveals that task-based English grammar teaching is more effective than traditional English grammar teaching,and task-based English grammar teaching is more helpful to improve students' interest and motivation in grammar learning.This article is formed from five parts.Chapter 1 is the introduction,including the research background and significance;Chapter 2 is the literature review,which introduces the grammar and grammar teaching,the definitions and characteristics of task and task-based teaching,etc;Chapter 3 introduces the research methodology,including research questions,research subjects,the instrument,the experiment,etc;Chapter 4 is the discussion and analysis of the survey results;Chapter 5 is the conclusion,which summarizes the pedagogical implications,limitations and suggestions for future research.
