This paper takes the creation of Bi Feiyu’s medium length novels as the research object, focusing on its writing in a developing dynamic process to make comparisons. From the point of view of writing, demonstrates the transformation of his novels in two aspects. One is in narrative techniques, mainly from three aspects of narrative intensity, narrative language, and narrative person to demonstrate that Bi Feiyu’s novels can be divided into two stages in the general direction. In the early days, the writer respected the avant-garde writing method, pursuing metaphysical thinking, the tone is intense and gorgeousand;Returning to realism in the later period, and exploring the expression of the story, language is exquisite and ingenious. Two,in the theme implication,we compare the representative works of the writer, the Corn trilogy, the Plain and the Massage. It is pointed out that the expression of Bi Feiyu’s theme in the period of realistic creation in the new century is not a constant:from ‘the Cultural Revolution’ of mentality that everyone suffers in the Corn to the revival of the daily life in the Plain, and then to the Massage to pay attention to the spiritual difficulties of the people, the writer has extended his strokes to the interior of life step by step,The exploration of human nature is also directed by external sociality to inner self. The last part discusses the change in his novel maturity, causes and enlightenment. It points out that Bi Feiyu’s novels follow the logic of novels and deepen their understanding of novels. Finally, based on the transformation of Bi Feiyu’s novels, this paper analyzes some problems in contemporary realistic fiction writing, and puts forward some new expectations.
