English Curriculum for Chinese Primary Schools and Junior Middle Schools regulates that the reform of English course should concentrate on comprehension,independence,efficiency and innovation.It also emphasizes the quality oriented education,which is no longer ignoring the practical usage and stressing the grammar.As a core idea of the course and a scientific reference of English teaching,students individual must be the heart of the course,besides,their ability should be a standard to measure all levels' target system.It is essential to provide students with participatory and experiential learning.English teaching for primary and senior students not only includes the explanation of vocabulary and grammar but also promotes students to apply their knowledge in order to acquire the cross-cultural awareness and form the independent learning ability.Based on the reality,it is a common phenomenon that primary and junior English courses present the state of isolation,which is no doubt caused by a distinct gap between the primary English teaching and the junior English teaching.Be specific,some students in the level of primary achieve the excellent and bad results,but from the level of junior,the gradually declined sore will result in the frustration of self-confidence and the disappearance of enthusiasm,finally they give up learning English.Therefore,the root of improving the quality of English teaching is to find out the reasons of poor consistency and solve the problem efficiently.The thesis adopts document analysis,questionnaire,single interview methods to do research on consistency of English teaching between primary and junior school.The reason why choosing Yang Jiaping Middle school's students and English teachers as the main respondents is that striving to seek for the problems,causes and ways of unconnecting between primary and junior English teaching.From this survey,the influence factor includes students' learning style and attitude,English teachers' teaching methods and evaluation,school'steaching idea and objectives,teaching materials and so on.As for these problems,the solutions are implemented from some aspects: Firstly,on the basis of paying attention to English curriculum,reinforce the management of primary English teaching and reasonably increase English teaching hours;Secondly,comprehensively understanding English materials and realizing the secondary development of English textbooks;Thirdly,improving English teachers' professional qualities and encouraging to change roles;For English teachers,under the condition of situational teaching,attaching importance to combine the layered teaching and group learning,cultivate students' autonomous learning ability;For students,forming the good learning habit in the primary and mastering the correct learning way;Finally,Laying emphasis on the function of a coordinated and scientific teaching evaluation in two levels' English teaching.
