As an important founder of Western Marxism,Lukacs' thought has an important influence on the development of Marxist philosophy in China. In a sense, the problems that are discussed today are still in Lukacs' artillery range.History and Class Consciousness is not only Lukacs' most significant work, but is also regarded as the Bible of Western Marxism. The study and interpretation of History and Class Consciousness provides the basis and material for the development of Marxist philosophy in China.Researchers from both at home and abroad have demonstrated that,Lukacs was not only influenced by Hegel, but also by his contemporaries, such as Max Weber,Georg Simmel and Wilhelm Dilthey. Thanks to a number of pithy books on Lukacs' theory,by the turn of twenty-first century, key concepts in History and Class Consciousness, such as totality, materialization, social existence and dialectics have been clarified in the context of Marxism. In other words,Lukacs' thought has been understood in its historical milieu and based on its original texts,in the same way that Marx's theory had been. Therefore, recent years have seen a trend,in which researchers attempt to understand Lukacs outside the Marxist doctrines and put him in conjunction with other theorists.Following the footsteps of previous researchers, this paper tries to further explore the link between Lukacs' theory as presented in History and Class Consciousness and Husserl's phenomenology. This paper argues that there are commonalities between the schemas of Lukacs' and Husserl's theories,as evidenced by the elements of Husserlian phenomenology found in History and Class Consciousness. This paper goes on by analyzing the elements of Marxism and phenomenology in History and class consciousness, and comparing Husserlian phenomenology and History and class consciousness.
