As The Subject Of The Experience-a Study On Merleau-Ponty’s Middle Thinking Of Literary Aesthetics | | Posted on:2019-01-27 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:H M Bian | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2405330548963585 | Subject:Literature and art | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | This article holds that “experience” is the central issue of Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s literary aesthetics,And this is the origin of explaining his aesthetic ideas,such as “perception”,“thaumaturgy” “becoming” and so on.“Experience” originates from the early phenomenology of perception,which is a node linking philosophy with aesthetics,Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy is often called perceptual philosophy,which stems from his rational criticism of traditional dualism.This philosophy of sensibility is similar to art itself,and is also an essential part in the process of artistic creation and appreciation.The subject of “experience” must not be the only one in the traditional dualism,but the individual involved in the art activities,which is also the inter-subjective philosophy of Merleau-Ponty about the “body”.Merleau-Ponty’s medium term writings have joined the linguistic approach to study the world and art in the order of symbols and explore the process of the creation and regeneration of art.Maurice Merleau-Ponty has no special aesthetic works,and its philosophical and aesthetic ideas are intertwined,what needs to be paid attention to in the study is how he combined these.Unlike the traditional art centrism,Maurice Merleau-Ponty thinks that there is no central subject in art activities.Artists and appreciates are in an equal position.Just like an artist’s perception and expression of the world,appreciative appreciation and commentary on art can also be called artistic creation.Therefore,art is not terminated by the author,but rather regenerates in the reader.No matter what kind of creation is based on “experience”,it is an important part of Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s theory of “becoming”,and it is rarely seen in the previous research literature as the focus of the discussion.This article is based on the theory of “becoming”.Art in the field of linguistics is like a symbol.Its meaning awaits the filling of the author and the reader.Therefore,“experience” and “becoming” are connected.Art is the expression of perception.This expression is not deterministic but a possibility with multiple meanings.Straightforward language can not arouse readers’ experience of thaumaturgy and thinking,“Indirect language” can reach the aesthetic meaning.Different individuals’ perception differences in artistic activities make art show different experience dimensions,and make it free from the author’s single dimension meaning and become the carrier of new life,which is the regeneration of art.Accordingly,based on “the subject of experience”,this article studies Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s mid-term literary aesthetics.The focus of the study is to explore the relationship between artistic expression and phenomenology.Through “perceptual experience”,we know how to relate the artistic expression to the phenomenology.Through the “experience of thaumaturgy”,the expression of art and its inherent tact are analyzed from the perspective of linguistics,and the communication between subjects in artistic appreciation and criticism is explored through “the re-commencement of art”.The article divided into three chapters.The first chapter,starting from the philosophical concept,clarifying the important concepts and logic of the aesthetic concept,emphasizes the importance of perceptual experience to the artistic creation.The second chapter puts forward that art begins with “ thaumaturgy”,and begins with the rejection of expression that conveys the experience of a variety of strangeness,so the expression of "great art" must be “indirect”,ambiguous and “silent”.The third chapter aims to explore the creation and re-commencement of art —— a “deaestheticization of the work” and “inter-subject” aesthetics,emphasizing the experience and expression of the reader as the subject.In general,the first discussion of “what is art”,and then the analysis of “what is a great art”,Finally,on the basis of this,we discuss the continuity of art generation,which is a nested logical structure. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Merleau-Ponty, Literary Aesthetics, perception, thaumaturgy, becoming | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
