Projct Report On Sewage Treatment Interpreting Project,Zhaoxian,Hebei Province

This report is based on the interpreting on Zhaoxian Sewage Treatment Project.The project is the technical cooperation between Zhaosheng Environmental Protection Company and Saisanket,an Israeli technology company.The reporter provided interpreting service for both sides during the process of negotiating,signing contracts,planning and conducting tests,covering the areas of science and technology and reception.Based on the interpreting practice and related theories,this report analyzes difficulties and makes suggestions.Through the analysis and summary of this interpreting activity,the reporter finds that the major problems are the lack of inter-disciplinary knowledge,the failure of changing the role of an interpreter and the cultural differences,which has affected the quality of interpreting.Hence,the reporter comes up with two corresponding solutions:Firstly,the interpreter should make full preparation and learn how to prepare the professional knowledge to improve the accuracy of interpreting.Secondly,the interpreter should understand the multiple roles of an interpreter,that is,he or she should change the role on specific occasions and facilitate the progress of the project.The multiple roles include project facilitator,communication coordinator,and cultural mediator.This report provides useful information for interpreters to improve the quality of liaison interpreting,understand the multiple roles of the interpreter,facilitating international technical exchanges and cooperation.
