| This paper focuses on the application of Jigsaw reading strategy in English reading teaching in junior middle school.English curriculum standard(2011)clearly stated that,"Teachers should strive to create a harmonious atmosphere in the classroom teaching,arrange teaching contents and procedures reasonably,organize various forms of classroom interaction.Encourage students to learn through observation,experience,inquiry and cooperation.Use English as much as possible to create opportunities to practice the language and guide them to learn autonomously."Based on cooperative learning theory and Jigsaw reading strategy,this study explores how to use Jigsaw to improve students’ reading skills through teaching plan design,practical classroom teaching and investigation and analysis.This study adopts empirical research methods,and adopts data collection methods and research methods such as tests and questionnaires,and analyzes and compares the data with the help of SPSS statistical software.Starting from the introduction of the research background,this paper shows that there are some problems about English reading teaching in junior middle school,and a more efficient and popular reading teaching method is needed.Then it introduces reading and English reading strategies,cooperative learning and Jigsaw reading strategy.Their concept,development status,domestic and foreign related researches and research statuses are discussed respectively.Through specific teaching cases,the application of Jigsaw reading strategy in English reading teaching in junior middle school is introduced.The division of the group,the distribution of the role and the way of evaluation were analyzed.Through questionnaires,interviews and so on,we have a thorough understanding of the present situation of group cooperative learning in English class in junior middle school.The purpose of this study is to discuss the following three questions:1.How is Jigsaw reading strategy used in junior high school English reading classes?2.How does Jigsaw reading strategy affect the junior middle school students’reading interest in English reading teaching?3.How does Jigsaw reading strategy affect the reading skills of junior high school students in English reading teaching?The same teaching material is used to teach two classes at the same level.The difference is that the experimental class adopts the Jigsaw reading strategy,while the control class adopts the traditional teaching method.Data analysis and experiments show that adopting Jigsaw reading strategy in junior middle school English reading class can improve students’ interest in learning,enhance self-confidence,improve learning methods,and cultivate students’ good learning habits and teamwork spirit.Students can effectively use reading skills to cultivate reading skills and improve their reading level. |
