A Reseach Of Nurin’s Family In Southwest In Yuan Dynasty

Saljiqut clan Nürin was a famous general in early Yuan Dynasty,he rose in the war in Sichuan,between Mongol Khanate and Song Dynasty.The Nürin family’s hereditary ruling in Sichuan lasted about a hundred years across Yuan Dynasty,political leaders,and it is a very famous family in Southwest region in Yuan Dynasty.Nürin was appointed marshal of the Mongol army in the war against Song Dynasty,he lead his scout horsemen went into Sichuan and played a lot of victories.Nürin’s son,Esüder achieved notable merits in the frontier in Sichuan and conquering Yunnan,also in the suppression of the rebellion in Yixibuxue,so that he attracted the attention of Emperor YuanShiZu and was appointed the provincial prime minister,commander of the Mongol army and so on,so that set the foundation for the Nürin family to be a great family in Southwest region.Nang?iatai,the son of Nürin,supported Taiding Emperor’s son to ascend the throne and fought against WenZong Emperor in the TianLi war in 1328,he rose rebellion,and called himself Zhenxi King,at last he surrendered to WenZong Emperor.But which almost didn’t affect the promotion of Nürin’s decendants.In the later period of the HuiZong Emperor,Nang?iatai’s son Ta?-Ba?atur commanded an army of 300,000 men in Henan province to fight against the Redheadscarf’s army,and he served as the prime ministers of Sichuan and Henan provinces early or late.Ta?-Ba?atur’s son Bolod-Temür held a strong power in the later period of Huizong Emperor and was appointed to the prime minister in the court.So that,we could see the brilliance of this house in politics of Yuan Dynasty.So far,the Nürin family hasn’t been fully researched in academic world.In this thesis,the author t research from the members of the family,and tried to make analysis of what they did in Southwest region in Yuan Dyansty.
