With the continuous deepening of Chinese and western exchanges, translation plays an increasingly important role as a bridge between different language cultures. The original text of this translation practice is excerpted from Chapter 9 of Dorota Ostrowka and Graham Roberts’ s European Cinemas in the Television Age,involving the development of European films and television.Fairclough’s intertextuality theory as the instruction, from the perspective of the manifest intertextuality and the constitutive intertextuality, this practice report focuses on generalizing strategies and methods adopted in the translation practice, and solving problems in the process of the translation.Through the analysis of the source text before translation,it is considered as an argumentative text.Hence, the translation must be technical, readable and understandable.Considering the features of the source text and target readers, the intertextuality theory is used as the guiding theory.Translation methods such as imitation, annotation, amplification, division, inversion, and conversion are used.Through this, the translator’s ability to translate and solve problems can be greatly improved. If it is possible, the report can be a reference for the translation or study of such kind of text in the future.
