Research On Xi Jinping’s Socialist Literary Thought

On October 15 th 2014,Xi Jinping hosted a forum on literature and art work in Beijing,and delivered an important speech of programmatic significance.This is the second epoch-making meeting once again in the history of the Chinese Communist Party after the Yan An Literature and Art Symposium,which is hosted by Mao Zedong in 1942.Standing at the height of history and the times,basing on China’s reality and looking at the whole world,in response to such questions as what socialist literature and art were and how to prosper and develop socialist literature and art,Xi Jinping put forward a series of innovative new ideas,new judgments,new viewpoints and new requirements,which became the basic principles guiding the Party’s literary and artistic work in the new period.Afterwards,at the opening ceremony of the Tenth Congress of the China Federation of Literary and the Ninth Congress of the Chinese Writers Association,as well as at the press conference on public opinion work and so on,Xi Jinping made a series of speeches concerning on the development of literature and art.All of these fully reflected that our new CPC Central Committee are attaching the great importance to the work of literature and art.,the ardent concern for literary and artistic workers and keen expectations for the development of literary and artistic undertakings.Since the reform and opening up,there are many flowers blooming in the field of literature and art in our country,and there are many great achievements have been made.However,there has also been a phenomenon that the creation of literature and art has escaped from the people,deviated from the interests of the people,the works of art and literature have been so abused that there is only "plateau" but no "peak" in the field of literature and art.Such as a timely rain,Xi Jinping ’s Thought of Socialist Literature and Art timely gived positioning and coordinates of the development of literature and art,recreated a new scene and a new atmosphere for literature and art.Its comprehensive description of literary direction,goals,status,functions,principles and policies is of great significance to the current development of literature and art.Under the guidance of Marxist theory,this article summarized the theoretical sources of Xi Jinping’s socialist literary thoughts,extracted its main contents and features and summarized its contemporary value for the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics by refining the main literary thoughts of Xi Jinping and other leaders’ books,speeches,articles,and scholars’ research.The research in this article can be divided into the following five parts:The first part: The introduction part.In this part we introduced the background and the meaning of this topic,listed the research status of Xi Jinping’s literary thoughts,the relevant research methods and related concepts.The second part: In this part we analyzed the theoretical source of Xi Jinping’s socialist literary thoughts: the thoughts are in line with the Marxist classical writers’ view of literature and art,they are inheritance of the party’s previous leaders’ view of literature and art,they also learnt and absorbed Chinese excellent cultural traditions and foreign excellent culture.The third part: In this part we sorted out the main contents of Xi Jinping’s socialist literary thoughts.In this chapter,after studying the speeches of his literary and artistic forum,we discussed the thoughts mainly from the four aspects.The fourth part: In this part we extracted the main features of Xi Jinping’s socialist literary thoughts.In this chapter,after combing of Xi Jinping’s literary thoughts,we highly condensed and summarized the main features: Xi Jinping’s socialist literary thoughts reflect the unity of the four dimensions of literary criticism,the unity of economy and efficiency,the unity of times and innovation,the unity of nation and world.The fifth part: In this part we summarized the contemporary value of Xi Jinping’s socialist literary thoughts: theoretically,the thoughts enriched the Marxist literary theory and the content of the socialist theory with Chinese characteristics,pointed out the direction for the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics;in practice,they promoted the prosperity of the literary creation and its industries,provided spiritual support for the realization of the Chinese dream and the building of a strong socialist cultural country.
