The establishment of the object persistence representation is the foundation of human being's ability to perceive the dynamic scene.It is found from previous studies that the establishment of object persistence representation is not only dependent on temporal and spatial attribute information,but also on the surface characteristics of the object to some extent.There are many different types of the surface characteristics of the object,such as color,shape and so on.However,the effect of these different types on the object persistence representation has not been unified.In addition,there are also some differences in the importance of the surface characteristics of different parts of the object.The object contour has the function of separating the graphic from the background,so the individualization of the object plays a vital role,to be more specific,only the individualized object can be tracked successfully.So,this study have the following two hypothesis.One is the surface characteristics of different types of objects(such as color,shape and so on)have different effects on the object persistence representation;Another is the same surface characteristics of different parts of the object have different effects on the establishment of the object persistence representation.In this study,we use the multiple object tracking paradigm and change detection paradigm.We manipulate the location(target and non-target)of the object change and the feature type(color and shape)of the object change to design the first experiment.The location where the color characteristics change(target and non-target),the place where the characteristic changes occur(outer contour and internal filling)were used to conduct the second experiment.The first experimental results shows that the color is more likely to promote the establishment of object continuity characterization in dynamic vision,especially on the target,than shapes do.The results of second experiment shows that the features on the external outline of the object are more activated than the features on the internal fill.To sum up,compared to the shape of the target object,color plays a greater role in the establishment of continuous characterization.In the tracking task,the features on the contour will be more bias than the features on the interior of the visual object.
