Epistemology is an important field in the study of contemporary western philosophy,arousing widespread concern and hot discussion.The traditional definition of "knowledge is justified true belief" is rock solid,but it was shaken by Gettier counterexamples in 1963.Belief,truth,justification and traditional knowledge constitute the three elements no longer a necessary and sufficient condition of knowledge,People once again face the challenge of "what is knowledge?" And then emerge the theoretical division of internalism and externalism,basicism and consistentism,but these theories do not completely solve the essence of knowledge,at the same time,knowledge Value problems gradually surfaced,full of vigor and vitality."Knowledge is more valuable than true belief?" This issue has become a focus of contemporary philosophers to conduct an in-depth study,Duncan Pritchard is one of them.In analyzing and studying the value of knowledge,he combed the problems of Merino and swamping,put forward the classification idea of the value problem of knowledge,namely,the first,second and third level of value,and put forward the solution of "inundation problem".Then,he put forward the concept of the ultimate value of knowledge,on the basis of which he expounded his idea of cognitive value.In his opinion,to answer the question of the value of knowledge,we must explain that knowledge has the ultimate value.To explain the ultimate value of knowledge,it is necessary to link knowledge to cognitive achievements and cognitive success.The formula can be expressed as:(P1)Achievements are successes that are because of ability(Achievement thesis);(P2)knowledge is a cognitive success that is because of cognitive ability(Robust Virtue Epistemology);(C1)so,knowledge is a cognitive achievement(KA thesis);(P3)achievements are finally valuable(Value of Achievements thesis);(C2)so,knowledge has final value.Pritchard made his own argument around the relationship between knowledge,cognitive achievement and cognitive success.Then analyzed the relationship betweenknowledge and understanding,in response to the idea of "understanding is a special kind of knowledge" put forward by Jonethan Kvanvig.In this process,two kinds of cognitive luck are distinguished,namely Gettier-style Luck and Environment Cognitive Luck.Finally,it summarizes and evaluates the moral knowledge theory represented by Sosa and its solutions to the problems of value.This paper,based on the value of knowledge,explores Cape Verde's cognitive value ideology in detail and presents a more comprehensive view of its theoretical aspects and horizontally compares the contemporary scholar's solution to the problem of value.To promote the development of the value issue is undoubtedly a useful attempt.
