Teaching is made up of teachers' teaching and students' learning,and jointly accomplish the task of bilateral unity.Teaching purpose is to learn,students are the key part of learning,teachers' teaching must through the students learning to play a role.Students learning process is a kind of subject construction,the process of generating,students must go through to any knowledge of his own understanding,construction,and generate the meaning of this knowledge,and integrated into his own cognitive structure,can he grasp the knowledge.Elementary school stage is an important period of life for students learning groundwork from students form the habit of active participation in c lassroom.They will benefit a lifetime.Primary school English teaching develops students' basic English listening,speaking,reading and writing skills and cultivates students' comprehensive language using ability,which guide students to play a role of main body,and partic ipate in the classroom actively.However,in the primary school English teaching,we found that the higher the students' grade,class partic ipation enthus iasm instead showed a trend of decline,seriously hindered the improvement of teaching quality,teachers should pay attention to and solve the problem.This study based on the elementary school higher grades in English classroom teaching,classroom observation,interviews and questionnaire survey method,to study the current situation of students' classroom partic ipation,on the basis of analyzing the existing problems and its reasons,put forward countermeasure suggestions to promote the students actively partic ipate in classroom,to promote the improvement of teaching quality.This paper mainly inc ludes five parts: the first part of introduction,mainly includes the research background,research purpose and meaning,definition of related concepts,research situation at home and abroad,research contents and research methods.The second part mainly elaborated the related theoretical basis,including the humanistic theory,constructivism theory and the theory of the zone of proximal development.The third part is an analys is of the present situation of primary school English teaching in primary school senior students' classroom partic ipation,mainly for classroom observation,interviews and questionnaire survey results are analyzed.The fourth part is the problems existing in the primary school English teaching in primary school senior students' classroom partic ipation and cause analysis.The problems and causes are both the students and teachers.The fifth part is the countermeasure suggestions to promote the students to actively partic ipate in class,stimulate students' interest in learning,cultivate the students' consciousness of participation,the scientific and reasonable allocation of time,the teachers change the teaching way,enrich students participation way,and build a good relationship between teachers and students,etc.The last is the conclusion.
