As one pursuit of the human society, justice has been hotly discussed both at home and abroad,in the past and at present. In recent years,China has attached greatly importance to the socialist core values containing the concept of justice.Chinese academic circles have also widely investigated the issue of justice. The contemporary China should take in fine resources of justice from the pre-Qin Confucian philosophy, compare them with the Western civilization, dialectically and objectively examine the pre-Qin Confucian outlook on justice on the basis of Marxist philosophy to realize modernization of the pre-Qin Confucian outlook on justice. The pre-Qin Confucians lived in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period,a turbulent period in ancient Chinese history of intensive warfare and flourishing of different ideas. The unfair social status where the rituals collapsed aroused many scholars' dissatisfaction, who put forward many ideas advocating justice. They attempted to change the status by guiding the practice with their theories. The justice pursued by pre-Qin Confucians is to realize scrupulousness in distribution wealth deserved by everyone and separating public from private interests in economy;uphold justice, kindness, loyalty and integrity, and exercise government by means of virtue in politics;respect ritual, appoint people by abilities, make no social distinctions in teaching, and enable every social member to perform their own functions institutionally. In their opinion, morality and rule by ritual are the most important approach to realization of justice.Meanwhile, one should know the doctrine of the mean so that he can cope with the issue of social justice more flexibly. The pre-Qin Confucians' outlook on justice mainly served the feudal rulers,so its excessive emphasis on unequal justice and the role of morality and ritual showed its era and class limitations.Despite that, many ideas of pre-Qin Confucians on justice, such as putting collective interests in the first place, exercising government by means of virtual, practicing the doctrine of mean, flexibly adapting to different circumstances and promoting institutional justice, are still referential to the current era. These ideas can be inherited and further developed to get integrated with China's socialist core values.By doing so,China can promote formulation of fairer political, economic and social systems, more fairly and reasonably distribute social resources, safeguard legitimate rights and interests of people, improve people's understanding of justice and morality, build a just and harmonious social environment, and realize development of social fairness, justice and harmony.
