| Mencius’ theory of goodness of human Nature is abundant and far-reaching.It is a necessary prerequisite for understanding Mencius’ theory of goodness of human nature that we understand the connotation of Xin(心),Xing(性)and Tian(天)in the text of Mengzi accurately.This article makes a comparatively comprehensive exposition and judgment on Mencius’ s theory of goodness of human nature on the basis of exploring philosophical concepts such as Xin,Xing and Tian.In addition,this article also includes the relationship between the body and Xin in Mencius’ s philosophy,the theory of Mencius’ s Qi(气),and Mencius’ religious thought.In this study,Mencius’ theory of Xin has various meanings,but Mencius emphasized the meaning of conscience in Xin.Mencius redefined human nature and established the essence of humanity and its tendency to be good through the argument between human beings and beasts and the heart of the four ends.In his theory of Cultivation,through the ability of reflecting in the Xin,he established the dominated status of Xin in the body,and by cultivation Qi achieving a harmonious unity of body and mind.The Mencius’ theory of Xin at this time is no longer limited to the level of mind,but to the reality of life.Through realistic moral practice,Reached the state of "everything is in me".Tian(天)plays a role in providing the ultimate basis in Mencius’ theory of goodness of human nature.Tian and Xin reflect each other,gives a vivid transcendence to the theory of goodness.So people can settle their lives in the context of Tian.Mencius established the absolute value of human,broke the superstition of external authority and publicized the free nature of human. |
