A Study Of Music And Performance In Yangqin Music Xiang Mo

The musical instrument Yangqin,has experienced a long-term development and has formed its unique Chinese system.In the past 60 years,both amount and quality of the pieces for Yangqin have grown.These pieces have made various innovations on the composing and performing,remarkably expanding Yangqin’s expression.Xiang Mo is one of these pieces,which involves various performing skills,and introduces new timbre and improvisation characteristics.This article consists of 3 chapters,analyzed and studied the modern Yangqin piece Xiang Mo with the author’s own performing experience and understanding.In the first chapter,the musical form,materials,and tempo are analyzed,to find the concept and connotations behind the form and contend of the music.In the second chapter,the performing skills used are analyzed,to detailly clarify the difficult points and key points of this piece,which helps the performer to concern more on expressions.In the third chapter,different accompaniment forms are analyzed,to introduce various styles of this piece,making the performer understand the piece deeper.
