Beauty is a particularly abstract concept, but people often have aesthetic experiences in their daily lives. The study of visual aesthetics, researchers also discovered the impact of dynamism on the aesthetic experience.Artists also use actually static things to express dynamic visual hallucinations. The experimental research findings indicate that it is because they induce the viewers' embodied simulation and action, which have produced empathy, thus affected aesthetic activities finally.Massaro et al.(2012)explored the effect of the content of the work, which involved the topdown cognitive process and the dynamics of visual stimuli involved in the bottom-up cognitive process in aesthetic activities, and they find the interaction between the content and dynamics of visual art works affects the individual's aesthetic behavior. At the same time, with the rise of the second generation of cognitive science characterized by embodied cognition, researchers are also paying more and more attention to the importance of motion and embodied simulation in aesthetic cognition processing(Freedberg & Gallese)(2007),they argues that the involvement of the viewer's own body will affect aesthetic judgment. However, these studies only allowed the participants to watch passively without considering the active physical participation of people in artistic appreciation. As a special visual art,Chinese calligraphy not only has morphological dynamics,it can easily be imitated by view's body movements, and it is closely related to Chinese culture, which is different from the previous Western art works. Therefore, based on Chinese calligraphic materials, this paper explores the effects of embodied imitation on Chinese calligraphy aesthetics with different dynamic forms.Study 1 recruited 22 college students who were amateurs in the art and asked them to make judgements about the degree of dynamism and good-looking of the low-familiarity calligraphy pictures selected from the pre-experiment.The result found that the score of high-dynamic pictures is significantly higher than the low-dynamic pictures.Study 2 recruited 38 college students who were amateurs of art and randomly present one of the three types of hand movement instructions(still, cross,or copy)to allow them to see different types of dynamic calligraphic images with different movement, and finally to make aesthetic judgements about the pictures. The results showed that copy movements improved the aesthetic evaluation of calligraphy images.Study 3 recruited 39 undergraduate students who were amateurs of art to perform different hand movements on different dynamic calligraphic pictures(high, low)and semantic types(verbs, static words, and virtual words),and finally make an aesthetic judgment. As a result,it was found that the meaning of words and hands movements interacts with each other, which means that the aesthetic evaluation of calligraphy with the meaning of verbs and virtual words is affected by hand movements, while the calligraphy aesthetic with static words does not suffer from hand movements. The experiment draws the following conclusions:(1)Chinese calligraphy with high dynamic fonts is considered to be better looking;(2)calligraphy with copy hand movement is more favored;(3)calligraphy with static meaning is more preferred and not subject to different The influence of hand movements.
