A Report On E-C Translation Of Alhambra Commercial Contract In Light Of Functional Equivalence Theory

With the globalization of China,modern business activities have become more frequent.There is an urgent desire for commercial contract.Under such circumstances,the translation of commercial contract plays a more important role in business activities.The translation of commercial contract is a highly professional and technical activity for helping convey the legal intent of the foreign contracts.Therefore,accurate and appropriate translations are essential to fully realize the legal functions of commercial contracts.Studying the translation of commercial contract will effectively guide the translation activities and have practical significance.Based on the translation practice of the author,this practice report aims to study the E-C translation of Alhambra commercial contract in light of functional equivalence theory.At first,the author summarizes the major problems affecting the transmission of legal information of source text.Then,under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,corresponding solutions are proposed,including conversion,addition,adjusting sentences syntactically and semantically as well as adopting coherent devices.The findings of the report are expected to provide references and suggestions for studies on similar commercial contracts in the future.
