| In museum commentary liaison interpreting,many museum guides adopt cramming commentary method,which leads to no sense of participation of foreign visitors.In other words,visitors cannot exercise their right to know and right to speak up.In face of this problem,this study aims to find what strategies the interpreter,as a participant in liaison interpreting,can adopt to help foreign visitors have a sense of participation.To achieve the above-mentioned goal,the author uses empowerment theory in sociology to explain why visitors have no sense of participation.And under the guidance of this theory,the author employs the empowerment strategies proposed by Ren Wen.The author believes that Ren Wen’s empowerment strategies can be effective in helping visitors gain a sense of participation.To verify this point of view,the author analyzes the examples from the real museum commentary liaison interpreting practice.Through the analysis,the author concludes that visitors can gain a sense of participation after the interpreter adopts Ren Wen’s empowerment strategies.Finally,the author concludes that the interpreter can employ Ren Wen’s empowerment strategies to help foreign visitors gain a sense of participation in museum commentary liaison interpreting. |
