| Textbook plays a great role in the field of international Chinese language teaching.Chinese language textbooks are their official learning materials for those who learn Chinese language in non-Chinese environment.And the elementary Chinese textbook might even be their first Chinese book.Therefore,it’s meaningful to reinforce the compiling and study of elementary Chinese language textbooks oriented for learners abroad.This study sets eyes upon two elementary Chinese textbooks used in Italy: Cinese:Passo dopo Passo and Parla e Scrivi in Cinese.With the intention to figure out similarities and differences between those two textbooks,methods including literature research and comparative study are applied.These findings and relevant theories are followed by several suggestions to improve Chinese language textbooks compiled and used in Italy.Moreover,great attention is paid to those localization parts which are designed to meet special conditions of Italian learners.This thesis is composed of four chapters.Chapter one introduces research background,research purposes,research significance,research methods,innovative parts,framework and literature review.Chapter two compares Cinese: Passo dopo Passo and Parla e Scrivi in Cinese by concrete analysis of their pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,Chinese characters and culture.Chapter three concludes on and analyse differences and similarities between those two textbooks and offers corresponding suggestions for improvement of Chinese language textbooks used in Italy.This study found out the following similarities between Cinese: Passo dopo Passo and Parla e Scrivi in Cinese: number of taught sounds and exercise types,the way to display vocabularies,average number of vocabularies included in one lesson,the way to mark pronunciation,the arrangement of grammar contents.Several differences can be summarized as different key sounds,the order of specific consonants and finals,vocabulary exercises,particular grammar,the analysis of Chinese characters,and the arrangement of culture-related knowledge.This study ends with several suggestions for how to enhance Chinese language textbooks used in Italy.As for pronunciation,a certain section shall be set,emphasize certain phonemes by more exercises,mark with international phonetic alphabet,highlight the four tones and neutral tone,and reorder nasal sounds;as for vocabulary,display vocabularies in verified ways,focus on grammatical meaning of words,and more exercises rather than statements;as for grammar,first and second level grammar should dominate grammar sections,and grammar forms and formulas are preferred;as for Chinese characters,endeavour on deconstruction and reconstruction of Chinese characters;as for culture part,chosen cultural contents shall be connected with learners’ daily life. |
