The Practical Meaning Of Play

The theme of this paper focuses on several key points which from theory of play of Gadamer and the ethical and practical significance extended from theory of play of Gadamer.The philosophical study of theory of play of Gadamer has been quite ample,whether at home or abroad,the summaries of the characteristics of theory of play of Gadamer are considerable,however,there are not enough studies on the extended significance of theory of play of Gadamer,among which there are several documents explaining the ethical and practical significance of the game despite this is closely related to the practice meaning in Gadamer’s hermeneutics,and it is worth discussing subjectively.So this paper introduces the main points of theory of play of Gadamer in a general way,which include the “to and from” movement of the game’s essential characteristic,the particularity of human game,works of art and audience,the transcendence of the game mode to the abstract aesthetic consciousness in the artistic experience and so on.This part mainly repeat the previous studies,but still made some further explanations for several key points.The natural essence and independence in itself which are expressed in the “to and from” movement in play provide a view of the human game as a super-subject or between-subjects,and the “to and from” movement of the game requires at least two players,they communicate and bind with each other.In the process of interaction between participants,participants are open to each other and games are open to everyone.But it is important to note that games can also be closed,the relationship between the players in the game is not necessarily harmonious.That is why this paper discusses several bad or depraved forms of improperly played games from an ethical perspective,and initially provides three ways to play bad games,including extreme technicalism,addiction,teasing.From the perspective of these negative cases,it can enrich the understanding of theory of play of Gadamer.
