Research On The Movement Of Increasing Production And Practicing Economy In Beijing From 1950 To 1952

During the early period of the People’s Republic,the economy and fiscal state were relatively serious in Beijing.In order to change the decadent situation of economy and support the Resisting U.S and Aiding North Korea Movement,the Beijing’s government responded to the summons of the Communist Party of China and launched the movement of increasing production and practicing economy with organized,large-scale,staged,all-round strategy.Beijing Municipality Patriotic and Increase Production and Practice Economy Competition Committee,Beijing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions and Beijing Municipality Resisting U.S and Aiding North Korea Movement branch were responsible for the related matters.Newspapers,performance,exhibition and other publicity methods were used to enhance the influence of this movement and work on the cohesion of people’s power.Furthermore,it was used to make the broad workers realize that the positive significance of this movement and enhance their political consciousness and arouse people’s patriotic enthusiasm.The Beijing municipal government took several measures in industrial production and institutional units.In industrial production,they mainly focused on increasing production and taking economy as a supplement.Boosting productivity and cutting the raw cost by those ways,for instance,encouraging the workers to make a plan,improve their techniques,and roll out their advanced experience to others.What’s more,Beijing municipal established a reporting system,checking the work timely and improving management methods.As a consequence,Beijing municipal achieved the purpose of increasing production and economy.On the contrary,in the institutional units,economy was considered to be the primary task.For these units,the goal of saving would come true for these units by improving work efficiency,practicing strict economy,opposing extravagance and waste,and reducing state spending rather than directly ramping up production.As the capital and political center,Beijing Municipal has been deeply influenced by the central government’s policies in where thoroughly perform,strong execution,and a high level of enthusiasm of people.This movement is especially significant in theearly days of foundation of New China.The local government regained the economic footing of Beijing and supported the Resisting U.S and Aiding North Korea Movement,promoted the construction of cadres’ team,and improved the living standards of the people when the movement had been carried out.However,there were several disharmonious factors during early days after the foundation of the PR China because of the highly complicated social environment.For instance,safe working is not in place,and some leading cadres were involved in corruption and escaped their responsibility.Although the mode of this movement could not be carried out in a long time,the effect of the movement of increasing production and practice economy was still huge.
