self-contained and valuable thought and art.This thesis takes the emperor-themed legendary novel of the Song Dynasty as the object of investigation,and tries to analyze and interpret them comprehensively and systematically from the aspects of concept,prosperous reason,ideological content,artistic features and influences,showing its unique style,and then reflect and deepen the study of the legendary novel of the Song Dynasty.This paper is mainly composed of five chapters.The first chapter combs and summarizes the two concepts of legendary novels and emperor-themed novels from the aspects of literary history development and literary stylistic features,thus defining the objects studied in this paper.And it summarizes the authors,versions,and contents of several representative works.The second chapter discusses the reasons why the emperor-themed legendary novel in the Song Dynasty.Based on the previous expositions on the development background of classical Chinese novels in the Song Dynasty,this paper focuses on the reasons of the development of history,the development of civil society and the characteristics of emperor-themed novels.Firstly,the developed historiography in the Song Dynasty enhance the historiography and historical consciousness of the novelist.So the novelists are keen on historical subjects and consciously pursue the historical function of the novel.At the same time,the citizen class has become an important part of the fictional acceptance group,requiring the novel to develop into secularization.The emperor-themed novel has prospered because of its historical significance and cater to the needs of the world.The third chapter analyzes the historical view and moral ethics in the emperor-themed legendary novel of Song Dynasty,and
