Notes And Commentaries On The Shuyi Bronze Bell

Shuyi bell is the longest bronze with an important historical value.Its inscription content plays an important role in studying the social situation at that time and some political systems of Qi State.It recorded the historical events of the destruction of Lai State by the armies of Qi that under the leadership of Shuyi,which were also recorded in Zuozhuan and other works.Through its enclave in Lai,it is of great significance to infer the historical changes of Yi’an.Although at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty,due to the invasion of the Jin armies,its whereabouts were unknown,only a few rubbings and copies remained,but it is undeniable that he had a better understanding of history for us and played a great role in supporting historical facts.This paper is mainly divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which briefly discusses the relevant content of the topic,as well as the main methods and shortcomings of the research.The second part is to make a chronology of the clock and introduce its owner,which makes the characters more three-dimensional and easier to understand the following contents.The third part is a systematic interpretation of 13 bell inscriptions,trying to collect the words of various schools,and corroborate each other with the documentary records.At the end of some controversial glyphs or meanings,my humble opinions are attached.Since the eight to thirteen minutes are only a repetition of the previous text,it is not necessary to elaborate too much,but only to mark the position of the previous text,and at the end of the article,the whole inscription is explained in more detail.The fourth part makes a slight analysis of some phenomena reflected by Zhong Ming,and through the historical facts of killing Lai reflected by Zhong Ming,discusses the reasons,process and results of Qi Dynasty’s killing Lai.Through its record of "Iron Maker 4000",it also makes some inferences about the use time of early iron tools.At the same time,the inscription also mentions Shuyi’s self-proclaimed descendants of Shang Tang,whose father is the grandson of Qi Xianggong,and makes some discussions on Shuyi’s life and history.On the other hand,it highlights the importance of Shuyi Bell in recording historical events and the social system reflected by it.The fifth part is the conclusion of the full text.The article mainly focuses on the interpretation of the text and the discussion of the content of the inscriptions.It synthesizes the views of various families and tries to find a more complete and smooth interpretation of the bell inscriptions.A little discussion of the content reflected in this paper will restore some of the social features of Qi State to a certain extent,which will help us better understand the history of Qi State in the Spring and Autumn Period.Whether in terms of the length or content of the inscription,Shuyi bell is an important object for studying the history of Qi State.Generally speaking,although it is difficult to gather all the words and expressions,there are also some incomplete meanings,and I hope I can make a little progress in the study of literature.Please correct the inappropriate points.
