Listening,speaking,reading,viewing and writing are five basic skills of senior high school English learning,which is mentioned by New Senior Secondary English Curriculum Standard in 2017.As the most important output of language learning,English writing can best reflect students’ comprehensive ability to use language.High school English learning is getting more and more attention from parents and students.On the one hand,English accounts for a large score in the college entrance examination.On the other hand,English score plays an important role in the students’ future studies and employment.But now high school students have low writing scores.However,schools don’t have special writing classes to provide writing training for students.Recently,domestic and foreign scholars have used corpus to analyze students’ writing errors in order to find the cause of writing mistakes and teaching strategies.As a result,they have got some achievements.Based on the theory of error analysis and interlanguage,taking the high school students’ writing corpus in Chinese learners’ English corpus as the research object,the author implemented research using five steps of error analysis.The research is designed to solve the following problems:(1)What are the common mistakes in high school students’ English writing?(2)What are the main causes for these writing errors?(3)What are the suggestions and countermeasures for high school English writing teaching? First,the author used the corpus analysis software Antconc3.5.7 to search 11 types of errors in turn,and got the search results.Then according to the literature the author has read,the author analyzed and presented the data of the search results,and analyzed some typical examples of five errors with the highest error frequency.Finally,according to the error analysis of typical examples,the causes of these errors are analyzed,and the writing teaching suggestions and countermeasures are proposed.The author retrieved a total of 18021 errors,and the five errors with the highest error frequency were word form,sentence,word,verb phrase and noun phrase.Through the analysis of error examples,the author found the cause of the error is mainly theinterlingual error,the influence of negative transfer of mother tongue on language learning,and intralingual error,that is teachers and students paid little attention to the study of basic language knowledge.In addition,some psychological factors are also the cause of high school students’ writing mistakes.Finally,combining internship experience and reading literature,the author put forward some suggestions to help teachers improve their writing teaching.Firstly,teachers should attach importance to the differences between English and Chinese,and reduce the negative impact of mother tongue on students’ writing.Secondly,teachers should pay attention to the teaching of vocabulary and grammar in the usual teaching and the study of language foundation.Thirdly,teachers can focus on cultivating students’ interest in writing.When students make mistakes,they should be corrected in time to let students develop habits of correcting mistakes.Finally,Teachers can use information technology to enrich the way of essay review and build a self-built micro corpus in order to help with the teaching of English writing.
