Problems Of Listening And Comprehension In French-Chinese Consecutive Interpretation And Solutions

Listening and comprehension are the first steps of French-Chinese consecutive interpretation.When the writer did French-Chinese consecutive interpretation for mock conference of the third edition of Chinese-French family development workshops,many errors and omissions occurred because of listening and comprehension problems,effecting negatively the convey of information.Therefore,the writer wants to analyse reasons of listening and comprehension problems according to her own experience and find out solutions.The paper starts with introduction of listening and comprehension importance in French-Chinese consecutive interpretation and differences between ordinary listening and listening in consecutive interpretation.By analyzing the case,listening and comprehension problems can be divided into following aspects: french language,logic and number expressions are complicated and very different from Chinese;interpreter lacks background knowledge and mismanagement of energy.At last,the writer proposes corresponding solutions.By case study,the writer hopes to improve listening skills,reduce problems caused by listening and comprehension,improve quality of interpreted language,so as to be helpful with the communication between speaker and audiences.
