Under the background of building the community of shared future for mankind and China’s entering into the New Era,Some experts and scholars like Robert Lawrence Kuhn recognize that a new and confident China is striding forward into the world that it itself would play a large part in shaping,which suggests China may have more chances to collaborate with countries around all over the world.In this regard,we are badly need of elitists who are capable of successfully negotiating with foreigners in English in a variety of fields.Thus,we are expected not only to grasp basic English knowledge,but also to incorporate cultural elements into language itself so as to acquire more information about the target language countries and increase our sensitivity of the cultural differences.And the English Curriculum Standard have ever mentioned the cultivation of students’ culture awareness for many times.On top of that,the education in middle school might be a transition and it is also the key period for most of teenagers to learn English language and culture knowledge.So,this paper will further study on the cultivation of junior middle school students’ culture awareness and the author shall intend to provide a picture about the current situation and to find out the existing problems and the reasons causing them.Then some practical suggestions will be come up with based on the researches and analyses.There are mainly two research questions:1)What would be the current situation about cultivation of middle school students’ cultural awareness?2)What seems to be the factors which result in the current situation of the cultivation of middle school students’ cultural awareness ?The author takes 300 students at grade 8 in Ping Shun Middle School as the subjects.There are three research tools in this whole process.At last,we will deeply understand the students’ cultural awareness through this survey.We can also see that there are several reasons which result in the present situation of students’ cultural awareness,such as the current examination mode,the entire education environment and the pressure from the examination and homework,as well as the negative effect from the teachers and parents and so on.
