| Objectives:This study aims to explore whether Positive Rumination Training(PRT),as a psychotherapy,is able to improve the mental health and executive functions which is attention bias to specific emotions of university students.Method:All subjects were divided into experiment group(EP)and control group(CP).EPs,whose mental conditions were recorded every 14 days,took a PRT program in 7 weeks and their mental conditions were recorded in a 4-week to 16-week followed-up session.CPs would not take any psychotherapy but their mental conditions were recorded every 14 days in 7 weeks and once after in week 11.The mental condition includes mental health questionnaire and an experiment which detect their attention bias of executive functions.Principle Observations:①After taking the PRT program,EPs mental health were signi ficantly improved,which not only happened during the program but also observed stable in follow-up session.②Significant interaction between time(training)and groups were observed,EPs recovered quicker from bad mental health condition than CPs.③No significant evidence was found to support that the PRT program has a positive effect to attention bias of executive functions.Conclusions:①The PRT program has a significantly positive effect to the improvement of university students’ mental health,whereas which still exist after the end of the program.②The positive effect of PRT program to mental health may not be explained by the self-healing.③No enough evidence is found to support that the PRT program has a positive effect to university students’ attention bias of executive functions. |
